About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute specific knowledge of high-pressure piping technology (e.g., according to DVGW regulations and the Pressure Equipment Directive)
- Take responsibility for developing and producing documents such as technical reports for feasibility studies, specifications, piping classes, plant and system layouts, 3D models, bills of materials, tender documents and cost estimates
- Coordinate the planning, execution and delivery of engineering projects and ensure that piping system requirements are met in terms of quality, budget and schedule
- Represent piping engineering within interdisciplinary teams to drive project success
- Communicate effectively with contractors, regulatory authorities and specialists to ensure smooth construction and acceptance/commissioning of the piping system
- Keep up to date with industry trends and technical developments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in the design and engineering of piping systems, preferably in high-pressure applications within the power or oil & gas industry
- Specific knowledge and experience in the pipeline transport of natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia and carbon dioxide is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of national and international regulations for high-pressure piping technology
- Experience designing and engineering complex piping systems in energy facilities across project phases (from feasibility study to commissioning)
- Leadership skills, including the ability to abstract complex technical topics and present them convincingly
- Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel and to operate in a fast-paced environment, with willingness to travel for several consecutive days (domestic and international)
- Very good German and English language skills, written and spoken (German at least C1)
