About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deploy the global and cluster SHE strategy, policy, and standards across all sites
  • Manage SHE teams delivering occupational health, safety, and environmental results
  • Drive SHE risk assessments and develop and implement appropriate controls
  • Lead implementation of the UMS Safety & Environmental Pillar with the Manufacturing Excellence team
  • Support deployment of Unilever’s behavioral safety program across sites
  • Support application of Management of Change guidelines and procedures
  • Monitor legal and Unilever-standard compliance and ensure regulatory requirements are met
  • Lead and deploy internal SHE audits and inspection systems
  • Identify and mitigate occupational health risks
  • Assist the North America SHE Director and Supply Chain leadership with incident management teams and SHE committees
  • Support investigations and analysis of serious and high-potential incidents
  • Lead the North America Safe Travel Committee
  • Advise line management on accident and incident investigations
  • Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses, and safe behavior observations
  • Oversee professional SSHE skills, training needs, training programs, and capability-building plans
  • Lead the SHE professional community of practice and facilitate best-practice sharing
  • Oversee OS/EPR/SHE PAR/SHENet reporting for accuracy and timeliness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or another STEM-related field
  • Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in a SHE leadership capacity within manufacturing, preferably across multiple sites
  • Proven analytical thinking, project management, and stakeholder management
  • Proven success tracking and driving improvement for TRFR, TRIR, DART, and LTIR KPIs
  • Ability to travel 25%-50% or an average of one to two weeks per month
