About the role
- The Lead, Talent Development – Retail is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing onboarding and leadership development programs across Under Armour’s Retail organization.
- This includes supporting training needs from part-time teammates to District Managers, and partnering with the Sr. Manager, Talent Development to shape and execute leadership development strategies.
- The role also contributes to the creation and refinement of content for Under Armour’s service model, the Armour Method, ensuring alignment with training and development initiatives.
- Retail leadership onboarding and maintaining scalable onboarding strategies for all Retail roles.
- Creating and managing training materials for the Armour Method service model.
- Supporting operational training initiatives and other Retail projects as needed.
- Collaborating with external vendors on LMS administration, content translation, and other key processes.
- Design and manage global leadership development programs for Retail Store Managers, aligning with Under Armour’s strategy and Retail-specific needs.
- Coordinate program delivery in partnership with regional teams, including pre-work, communications, and logistics.
- Facilitate Train-the-Trainer sessions to ensure consistent global delivery of leadership content.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to identify skill gaps and update training materials accordingly.
- Oversee the Training Store Manager program, supporting recruitment, execution, and administration.
- Support leadership development across all Retail levels, including corporate-led initiatives and reinforcement of learning.
- Lead or assist with Retail leadership events such as conferences and summits.
- Collaborate with Retail and Corporate stakeholders to enhance leadership capabilities and support broader organizational initiatives.
Requirements
- Expertise in learning and development, including instructional design and facilitation (in-person and virtual).
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training impact measurement.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to assess learning needs and develop effective, learner-centered training solutions.
- Skilled in influencing without authority and building cross-functional partnerships.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic, collaborative, and detail-oriented with a resilient and adaptable mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, HR, instructional design, organizational development, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in retail leadership or in developing and facilitating training, ideally in retail or sales environments.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE), and virtual learning strategies.
- Experience designing and delivering training for diverse, multicultural teams.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud).
