About the role
- Contribute to planning and executing compliance initiatives within payroll and other product areas.
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear, actionable inputs for product teams.
- Support the delivery of high-quality solutions on well-defined roadmaps.
- Monitor upcoming regulatory changes relevant to payroll and wage tax and assess their impact within your scope.
- Provide structured requirements and recommendations to support product decisions.
- Identify compliance risks or gaps and escalate appropriately, proposing mitigations.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to ensure compliance considerations are addressed early in the development process.
- Clarify compliance requirements and facilitate cross-team discussions as needed.
- Contribute to and maintain a collaborative, efficient working environment.
- Provide guidance to team members and customer-facing teams on compliance topics within your area of expertise.
- Contribute to internal training and documentation to build broader team understanding of compliance processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline compliance-related workflows.
- Participate in workshops or reviews aimed at improving product and compliance processes.
- Use data and documentation to support compliance assessments.
- Support mitigation planning for identified compliance risks within defined areas.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of German wage tax and payroll compliance, typically demonstrated by 4–6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting product development with compliance insights in a complex or regulatory-focused environment.
- Comfortable working with product and engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into product requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
