About the role
- Manage high-volume legal ticketing system for customer success and sales teams (email, Slack, Salesforce legal cases)
- Provide timely, business-focused legal guidance on customer contracts and customer inquiries
- Develop efficient processes to prioritize and address legal requests
- Review, draft, and negotiate vendor agreements, NDAs, and other commercial contracts
- Support partner team with partner agreements and relationship management
- Maintain and update contract templates to reflect current business needs and legal requirements
- Manage IP portfolio including trademarks, open-source code libraries, and software licensing
- Conduct and assist with privacy and security reviews for product development and data handling
- Develop and maintain compliance programs
- Create and deliver legal training programs for employees
- Support M&A activities including due diligence, integration, and post-acquisition matters
- Provide legal guidance on regulatory compliance
- Assist marketing team with IP protection, content review, and promotional compliance
- Collaborate with product teams on feature development legal requirements and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership
- 5+ years of in-house legal experience with SaaS/technology companies
- Strong understanding of software licensing, IP, privacy, and commercial contracts
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
- Exceptional time management and organizational abilities
- Self-starter capable of working independently across departments
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cross-departmental projects simultaneously
- Strong project completion focus and follow-through
- Proficiency with legal technology platforms (Ironclad, Zip, DataGrail, GC AI, etc.)
