About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead energy and industrial gases tendering processes, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and contract management for existing operations and new site developments
- Monitor energy and commodity markets, analyze price developments and trends, and communicate insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Develop cost forecasts and budgets for energy and industrial gases to support business planning and decision-making
- Build and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and data models covering sourcing performance, risk exposure, and market developments
- Manage and consolidate energy, procurement, market, and operational data from multiple sources
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance
- Collaborate with category managers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reporting and analytical solutions
- Manage supplier relationships, contractual obligations, invoice verification, and commercial, contractual, and credit risks
- Support Umicore’s reliable supply, cost optimization, and decarbonization goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in economics, sciences, or another relevant field
- Substantial professional experience in indirect procurement
- At least two years of relevant experience in energy sourcing
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of Dutch and/or German is a strong plus
- Strong analytical and conceptualizing skills
- Knowledge of PowerBI is an advantage
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence, persuade, and build constructive relationships across the organization
- Results-oriented approach with a focus on process, reporting, and ways-of-working improvements
- Highest standards of ethics and integrity
