About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implementing and managing health and safety programs in chemical manufacturing facilities in Tennessee and Louisiana
  • Leading monthly site safety training and facilitating all annual safety meetings
  • Managing industrial hygiene and biomonitoring testing programs
  • Ensuring appropriate protection measures are in place
  • Identifying and managing PPE equipment and programs
  • Creating and delivering new employee and contractor safety training and orientations
  • Managing job safety analyses, hazard assessments
  • Participating in occupational and process safety incident reviews
  • Managing the Risk Awareness Program
  • Cultivating a strong culture focused on safety
  • Managing and implementing Lock Out/Tag Out, Hot Work, Confined Space, and Fall Protection programs
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring leading safety indicators
  • Maintaining working relationships with governmental agencies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or science field (Environmental Sciences preferred)
  • 5 years' hands-on experience with safety
  • At least 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience providing employee training and making presentations
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional, and/or Safety Management Specialist
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices
  • Team-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
