About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs assigned tasks in the Finance area following standard operating procedures and safety and quality requirements
- Maintains accuracy and integrity of records, documentation and transactions in compliance with internal controls
- Identifies issues or inconsistencies and supports continuous improvement of procedures and work instructions
- Supports colleagues and responds to stakeholder requests in a timely and professional manner
- Coaches or trains colleagues on procedures and tools, coordinating daily priorities when needed
- Acts as a point of reference for complex or exceptional cases, ensuring compliance during audits or inspections
- Reviews calculations for ICMS, IPI, PIS and COFINS with critical analysis and in accordance with current legal requirements to identify potential errors and opportunities for improvement, aiming to mitigate tax risks
- Provides support to the tax manager and tax team on strategic tax matters, process reviews, consultations, preparation and internal training, ensuring legal deadlines and tax compliance of operations
- Responds to internal client requests related to new business, assessing applicability according to current legislation
- Participates in and ensures legal requirements are met during system improvement projects related to indirect taxes and their maintenance, keeping systems up to date
- Supports external audit and assists in preparing information for Federal, State and Municipal tax inspections
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Law
- Postgraduate degree in Tax Law or Tax Planning preferred
- Extensive experience and strong command of interpreting tax legislation, analyzing new business requests, and configuring tax parameters in integrated systems, as well as analyzing tax operations such as sales, manufacturing, import, export, differential rates, CIAP assets, etc.
- Proven experience and autonomy in calculating indirect taxes (ICMS, IPI, ISS for service providers, PIS and COFINS) and in preparing, reviewing and filing ancillary obligations (GIA, SPED Fiscal, SPED Contributions)
- Experience in industry or at a Big Four firm is a plus
- Advanced Excel
- Knowledge of integrated ERP systems
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Pre-intermediate English level
