About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather, analyze, design, and implement data-related requirements and optimization initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for extracting data from cloud and on-premise systems into a Data Lake
  • Build and manage large, complex datasets aligned with business needs
  • Configure data workflows to optimize ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources
  • Evaluate current data architecture and recommend improvements
  • Develop analytics tools to generate actionable business insights (e.g., customer acquisition, operational performance)
  • Create small data-driven applications to support analytics and data science teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance business processes and data deliver

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with big data pipelines, architectures, and datasets
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools: Databricks, DBT, Azure Data Factory
  • Databases: SQL & NoSQL systems
  • File formats: Parquet, JSON, CSV, XML
  • Programming languages: Python, Java, C++, PowerShell, DAX
  • Experience with Azure Data Services and Databricks
  • Knowledge of message queues, stream processing, and scalable data stores
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps
  • Experience or understanding of Data Mesh architecture (Nice to Have)
  • SAP knowledge (Nice to Have)
  • Azure data-related certifications (Nice to Have)
  • German language skills (Nice to Have)
