About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle incoming calls from patients, families, and referring providers to schedule appointments across multiple providers, clinics, departments, practices, and campuses
- Make outbound calls to schedule specialist and subspecialist appointments
- Collect and update patient demographics, insurance information, and account guarantor details
- Collect patient liabilities before or on the date of service, as appropriate
- Secure medical records from outside healthcare organizations based on appointment visit type
- Schedule in-office procedures and coordinate procedure rooms
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma required
- English speaking, reading, and writing skills required
- Strong intrapersonal and communication skills required
- Previous scheduling and/or phone customer service experience preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare organization preferred
- Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements where certification, licensure, or registration is not required
