About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
- Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.
- Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly.
- Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.
- Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and appropriately sends exams to PACS for the physicians to review.
- Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.
- Assists with other job-related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.
- Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, performs CT exams using contrast media according to department policies and procedures.
- Establishes IV access for contrast injection according to department policy and procedures.
- Travels between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support.
- Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
- Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors.
- Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or NMTCB certified in diagnostic CT.
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to produce optimum results.
- Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.
