About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handles incoming phone calls from patients, families and referring providers to schedule patient appointments
- Makes outbound phone calls to patients to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists
- Secures the information needed to facilitate the financial aspects of medical care including patient demographics and insurance information
- Processes updates and corrections to patient insurance and demographic information
- Collects patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service, as appropriate
- Schedules in office procedures like biopsies, ensuring necessary medical information is available for providers
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma
- Associate’s degree in business or healthcare-related field (preferred)
- English speaking, reading and writing skills
- Strong intrapersonal and communication skills
- Previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience (preferred)
- Previous experience in a health care organization (preferred)
- Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills (preferred)
