About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assess security architecture across enterprise systems and AWS cloud environments
Evaluate how AWS environments are governed, provisioned, operated, and consumed
Analyze architecture within AWS IL4 (or similar regulated environments)
Identify security gaps across: System design, Cloud configurations, Policy enforcement, Operational processes
Evaluate alignment with: AWS Well-Architected Framework, DoD and federal security guidance, Zero Trust and defense-in-depth principles
Provide target-state architecture recommendations
Support identification of policy, operational, and technical deficiencies

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years in cybersecurity architecture (cloud + enterprise)
Strong experience with AWS environments and DoD security requirements
CISSP (foundational requirement for most architect roles)
CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) – critical for AWS/cloud environments
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
AWS Certified Security – Specialty
SABSA (Security Architecture)
TOGAF (Enterprise Architecture)
CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
Active TS/SCI with SCI Polygraph (or eligible)
