About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply sound engineering judgement to ensure products are developed to be supportable
Develop the support solution and acquire the necessary resources for support
Ensure the supportability of our products by helping shape the design for support and helping develop the support solution architecture.
In coordination with the ILS Project Lead, tailor the scope and scale of ILS activities to meet the User, Customer, and Ultra’s requirements.
Work collaboratively with designers to improve the reliability, maintainability and usability aspects of Ultra's designs.
Provide input to the development of the optimum support solution for each customer, within the context of a wider product and capability roadmap.
Complete life cycle cost analyses, level of repair analyses, sparing analyses, failure modes and effects analyses.
Elicit and derive support requirements and proposing verification methods for requirements.
Develop supportability cases and conduct analyses to provide progressive assurance of support solutions.
Perform reliability modelling and undertake maintainability analysis to optimize support arrangements.
Assess the human element of systems, including assessing the potential for human error as a contributor to system failures.
Prepare, or provide input to, technical manuals such as troubleshooting guides or operations and maintenance manuals.
Assist with the identification and mitigation of hazards through system hazard analysis.
Formulate and implement the obsolescence strategy for a product line.
Support the continuous improvement of processes, policies and procedures.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field
Experience in a range of roles within a relevant complex engineering environment
May be required to maintain security clearance
