About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead system design and development efforts across new programs
Perform design and development of integrated avionics and communications systems
Provide expert judgment and analysis for technical products and systems
Resolve complex technical issues and conduct advanced research
Defend work and design approaches using Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
Recommend design and development alterations to improve product and procedure quality
Plan and accomplish goals using applicable experience and judgment
Establish planning and reflection cadences across multiple project teams
Guide development flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality
Mentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices
Develop and write system test plans and procedures
Simulate end-user operations and execute test procedures
Support generation of testable requirements and test bed architecture
Write detailed test cases and document results in software development lifecycle management tools

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an Engineering-related field
Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required
U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field
Proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
Experience with simulation tools and techniques for system design, analysis, and validation
Prior experience with Army Command and Control systems such as IBCS, FAAD, or THAAD
3+ years of experience with tactical data links, including Link 16
3+ years of experience with DoD radio communications systems
3+ years of experience with IP network design and maintenance
Safe Engineering experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of the product life cycle, including system design, development, integration, test, delivery, product support, and retirement
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, Project+, or AeroIT certifications
Holds or willing to work toward Systems Engineering Professional Certification, such as INCOSE ASEP as a minimum
