Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead system design and development efforts across new programs
  • Perform design and development of integrated avionics and communications systems
  • Provide expert judgment and analysis for technical products and systems
  • Resolve complex technical issues and conduct advanced research
  • Defend work and design approaches using Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Recommend design and development alterations to improve product and procedure quality
  • Plan and accomplish goals using applicable experience and judgment
  • Establish planning and reflection cadences across multiple project teams
  • Guide development flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality
  • Mentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices
  • Develop and write system test plans and procedures
  • Simulate end-user operations and execute test procedures
  • Support generation of testable requirements and test bed architecture
  • Write detailed test cases and document results in software development lifecycle management tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an Engineering-related field
  • Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
  • 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
  • Experience with simulation tools and techniques for system design, analysis, and validation
  • Prior experience with Army Command and Control systems such as IBCS, FAAD, or THAAD
  • 3+ years of experience with tactical data links, including Link 16
  • 3+ years of experience with DoD radio communications systems
  • 3+ years of experience with IP network design and maintenance
  • Safe Engineering experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the product life cycle, including system design, development, integration, test, delivery, product support, and retirement
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, Project+, or AeroIT certifications
  • Holds or willing to work toward Systems Engineering Professional Certification, such as INCOSE ASEP as a minimum
