About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a team of solar engineers
Manage and lead all engineering activities during proposal, design, and construction stages
Work with customers to ensure client and project expectations are understood and addressed
Provide technical leadership and coordination on large utility scale solar projects
Create and manage team budget for financial responsibility
Coach, train, and develop engineering technical staff for growth and development opportunities
Maintain and grow positive team culture
Aid in the development and management of strategic accounts and proposals
Maintain and build positive client relationships.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical and or electrical engineering, or related engineering field
Professional Engineer (PE or PEng registration or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) strongly preferred
Minimum of 7 years of solar project design and 3 years of team leadership (solar or non-solar) experience is preferred
Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and PV design, including plant layout and performance modeling, modules, inverters, racking, and DC/AC collection systems
Strong understanding of project performance and cost drivers
Proven experience in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Must be able to travel to project/client sites as required (approximately 5-15%)
Must have authorization to work permanently in the United States or Canada.
