About the role

  • Develop and maintain 3D BIM models of electrical substation projects throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure that 3D models and drawings are accurate and reflect design specifications, company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Produce construction documents, including: Site plans, Electrical layouts, Sections and elevations, Electrical one-lines and schematics, Panel layouts, Wiring and communication diagrams, Construction details, Detailed component drawings.
  • Collaborate with electrical, civil, mechanical, and structural engineers to ensure model coordination and clash detection.
  • Update and modify BIM models and drawings as designs evolve, ensuring changes are accurately documented.
  • Ensure all models and drawings adhere to company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Assist project engineers and managers by providing technical drafting support, model visualizations, and document control.
  • Help identify and implement new BIM tools and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM modeling, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong skills with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Preferred Knowledge: Substation electrical protection and control and/or physical design (strong plus).
  • Dynamo and/or pyRevit (beneficial).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in project scope and deadlines.
  • Good organization and communication skills to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • If working remotely, must have reliable high-speed internet capabilities.
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
