About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as lead legal counsel on assumed and ceded reinsurance matters
  • Draft, review, analyze, interpret, and negotiate treaty and retrocession contracts
  • Advise on contract wording, allocation issues, coverage intent
  • Partner with underwriting, claims, finance, and executive leadership
  • Conduct legal research and monitor developments in reinsurance law

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to at least one U.S. state bar
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) practicing law in reinsurance or insurance
  • Experience with assumed and ceded reinsurance transactions
  • Strong knowledge of insurance and reinsurance legal principles
