About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a primary support resource for Finance applications (General Ledger, Workiva, FP&A tools, treasury, reinsurance systems, etc.)
  • Configure system rules, workflows, and role-based security to support business processes
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Maintain system configuration documentation and inventories
  • Lead Finance participation in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements
  • Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Finance-impacting changes
  • Evaluate and prioritize system enhancement requests
  • Partner with IT to assess integration impacts across upstream and downstream systems
  • Align system functionality with accounting close, FP&A cycles, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve system usage and reduce manual processes
  • Support implementation and stabilization of new Finance systems and integrations
  • Recommend process improvements leveraging system capabilities
  • Ensure Finance systems support SOX, GAAP, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain system-related control documentation and support audits
  • Ensure appropriate access controls and segregation of duties are enforced
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning for Finance systems
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts
  • Act as a liaison between Finance and IT for system-related issues
  • Communicate system changes, risks, and impacts to stakeholders
  • Contribute to standardization of system processes and best practices.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in financial systems, ERP administration, or accounting operations
  • Insurance or financial services experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial close and reporting processes
  • Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., FIS IAS, SAP, Oracle, Workiva, Workday, etc.)
  • Familiarity with system configuration, integrations, and change management practices
  • Understanding of internal controls and SOX requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Process-oriented mindset with focus on system reliability and efficiency.
