About the role
- Manage GL accounting including accounts payable, T&E, accruals, key balance sheet reserves, payroll accounting (benefits, commissions, bonus, equity), and account reconciliations
- Oversee the monthly accounting close: manage close timeline, review fluctuation analysis, investigate unusual trends and results
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals; provide coaching, training, and identify growth opportunities
- Lead initiatives to improve speed and accuracy of the monthly close and other accounting operations with a risk-based, scalable approach
- Collaborate with SOX team to maintain and improve internal controls
- Partner with Finance, Tax, Legal, People, Procurement and other cross-functional partners to define and implement accounting systems, processes, and automation
- Support financial reporting and external audit requirements on a quarterly and annual basis
- Assist in or lead ad hoc projects; act as a key operator and decision maker reporting to the Assistant Controller
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing a team
- Experience in Big 4 public accounting highly preferred
- Experience working with high volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business environment
- Experience in NetSuite, Floqast, and Alteryx preferred
- Strong experience and knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX internal controls
- Proven ability to work across many departments with varying levels of staff and management
- Demonstrated examples of implementing process improvements, such as technology-enabled or system-based solutions
