About the role
- Monitor and engage with the latest developments in data science and AI; review internal and competitor content offerings and contribute insights for Udacity’s catalog of Nanodegree programs and courses
- Utilize technical expertise, industry knowledge, and research skills to develop high-level scopes for Udacity content
- Collaborate with external subject matter experts and internal team members to develop effective online content that adheres to Udacity’s pedagogical standards
- Coach and support new authors through the Udacity course development process and provide pedagogical feedback to instructors from the perspective of the “student zero”
- Create learning content, including video scripts, instructional text, hands-on exercises, quizzes, and capstone projects using Udacity’s tooling, templates, and pedagogical best practices
- Support authors in creating coding environments and interactive tools to enable learners to apply data science techniques
- Utilize data and learner feedback to support content effectiveness and student outcomes
Requirements
- Deep hands-on expertise in data science, including data wrangling, exploratory data analysis, data visualization, statistical modeling, and machine learning
- Proficiency with Python and common data science libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and seaborn
- Experience working with data via SQL, as well as exposure to big data tools such as Spark or distributed databases
- Familiarity with descriptive and inferential statistics, A/B testing, and performance metrics
- Exposure to cloud-based tools for data workflows (e.g., AWS Sagemaker, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake or Databricks) is a plus
- Experience using version control tools like Git
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end data science workflow, from problem formulation through to data acquisition, modeling, evaluation, deployment, and interpretation
- Ability to translate complex data science concepts into structured, learner-focused content, such as interactive labs, projects, and real-world case studies
- 2+ years experience in curriculum development and/or teaching technical learning content
- 2+ years of industry experience in a data science or analytics-focused role
- Excellent English verbal, written, and copy-editing skills
- A can-do attitude and a growth mindset
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States of America on a full-time basis (no visa sponsorship)
