About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Supports enterprise applications across UCLA Health
Works independently on projects assigned by the Application Manager and/or Financial & Administrative Systems Director
Ensures the stability, performance, and ongoing enhancement of key business applications
Troubleshoots, maintains, and optimizes existing software applications
Designs, builds, tests, implements, and supports new applications, enhancements, and modules
Develops a deep understanding of application functionality
Partners with business owners, vendors, and Information Services & Solutions (ISS) team members to analyze requests and recommend solutions

Broad and/or in-depth knowledge of multiple areas of focus in application specialty areas
Ability to research, organize, analyze, and synthesize data to support effective decision making
Must be detail oriented and have a knack for probing for information
Ability to decide priority of assigned tasks and manage multiple and competing tasks
Ability to work effectively as a team player and work with people of all backgrounds, at all levels
Effective leadership skills and strong customer service orientation
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to remain calm in difficult and stressful situations
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated technical and functional proficiency with UKG Workforce Central
Demonstrated proficiency with scripting, report development and application configuration
Experience documenting and testing functionality within an application
Past participation in all stages of the application development life cycle
Demonstrated proficiency with information systems technology
Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design
Bachelor’s Degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area.
