About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and support end-to-end technology procurement activities across a portfolio of complex programmes
- Manage procurement lifecycle processes, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations and internal governance frameworks
- Support supplier onboarding, transition, and exit activities, ensuring minimal operational disruption
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align procurement strategies with service design and operational requirements
- Ensure all procured services are operable, auditable, and aligned with service management principles from inception
- Provide commercial assurance and risk management across multiple concurrent procurements
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage expectations, timelines, and delivery outcomes
- Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of procurement processes and best practice
- Support governance, reporting, and audit activities across the procurement function
- Mitigate risks associated with supplier dependency, transition complexity, and service continuity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in technology procurement within complex, multi-supplier environments
- Demonstrable experience managing high-value, high-risk procurements with fixed deadlines
- Strong background in public sector or regulated environment procurement (desirable)
- Experience supporting supplier onboarding, transition, and exit activities
- Track record of working across large-scale digital transformation programmes
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and governance
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and frameworks (e.g. Public Contracts Regulations)
- Experience with commercial strategy development and contract management
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent procurements and competing priorities
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification or equivalent (Desirable)
- ITIL certification (Desirable)
- PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification (Desirable)
