About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process orders in the Alliance operating system
- Build relationships with rail, dray, and customers to meet customer requirements
- Manage customer business to ensure compliance with requirements
- Update the Alliance operating system with current shipment data daily
- Ensure timely execution of pickup and delivery functions for each customer order
- Resolve and communicate shipment problems or issues to customers
- Communicate issues outside SOPs and established measurements to Alliance management
- Train new team members as needed on handled accounts
- Manage customer intermodal freight traffic from origin through delivery
- Establish business relationships and communicate requirements to rail and drayage vendors
- Measure, manage, and assure complete fulfillment of customer needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in intermodal freight handling, shipping operations, or freight forwarding
- 1–2 years of industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple responsibilities
- Ability to handle conflict and provide insightful resolutions while preventing future issues
- Honest, strong work ethic, resourceful, and effective negotiation skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High level of urgency and strong desire to succeed
- Proficient computer skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
