About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Process orders in the Alliance operating system
Build relationships with rail, dray, and customers to meet customer requirements
Manage customer business to ensure compliance with requirements
Update the Alliance operating system with current shipment data daily
Ensure timely execution of pickup and delivery functions for each customer order
Resolve and communicate shipment problems or issues to customers
Communicate issues outside SOPs and established measurements to Alliance management
Train new team members as needed on handled accounts
Manage customer intermodal freight traffic from origin through delivery
Establish business relationships and communicate requirements to rail and drayage vendors
Measure, manage, and assure complete fulfillment of customer needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in intermodal freight handling, shipping operations, or freight forwarding
1–2 years of industry experience
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field preferred but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple responsibilities
Ability to handle conflict and provide insightful resolutions while preventing future issues
Honest, strong work ethic, resourceful, and effective negotiation skills
High attention to detail
Strong time management skills
Critical thinking skills
Ability to multitask
Excellent written and oral communication skills
High level of urgency and strong desire to succeed
Proficient computer skills
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
