About the role
- Plan and execute high-visibility events such as executive sessions, leadership offsites, workshops, and professional development engagements (e.g., PDI-style events).
- Own the full event lifecycle: concept development, stakeholder alignment, agenda build, speaker management, run-of-show, rehearsals, onsite execution, and after-action reporting.
- Manage venues, room blocks, audio/visual, security considerations, visitor access, base entry coordination, and all logistics required for smooth delivery.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination to align event objectives, messaging, and outcomes across leadership, financial management, public affairs/communications, and operational teams.
- Support executive engagements with briefing materials, talk tracks, and stakeholder-ready content.
- Develop and produce outreach materials tied to event priorities and enterprise communications goals (print/digital).
- Oversee digital content and communications products, which may include newsletters, podcasts, social media content, and SharePoint sites.
- Maintain a consistent voice and standard across products while ensuring alignment with Air Force guidance and approval workflows.
- Apply a thorough understanding of **10 USC § 9022 Financial Management** principles to support compliant planning, documentation, and decision support.
- Track schedules, deliverables, approvals, and risk mitigation plans to keep high-visibility efforts on time and leader-ready.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree (communications, public affairs, marketing, event management, or a related field)
- 10+ years of progressive experience supporting strategic communications, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement for State/Federal government and/or large complex organizations (1,000+ employees)
- 8+ years supporting cross-functional collaboration, facilitating executive-level forums, and producing outreach materials
- 5+ years developing and executing enterprise outreach strategies, managing high-visibility events, and overseeing digital content/communications products (newsletters, podcasts, social media, SharePoint sites)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent events and deliverables with tight timelines and senior-level visibility
- Strong writing and editing skills, with confidence translating complex inputs into clear leader-ready products
- Preferred (nice to have)
- Experience supporting U.S. Air Force or DoD stakeholders, including work in or alongside FM/strategic communications functions
- Familiarity with government approval chains, records practices, and communications governance
- Experience building repeatable event playbooks, templates, and SOPs to improve consistency and speed
