About the role
- Drive user experience and interface design for the Election Administration Platform (EAP)
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design artifacts aligning the team toward a shared vision
- Screen, onboard, and manage a team of volunteer designers and user researchers
- Provide oversight and quality assurance on volunteer design work
- Define end-to-end user flows incorporating technical information architecture, systems thinking, and design principles
- Plan and facilitate user research in collaboration with research specialist volunteers
Requirements
- 7+ years as a senior independent contributor product designer for digital software products
- Experience managing other designers
- Strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex projects
- Ability to balance hands-on design work and volunteer management
- Familiarity with modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma
- Familiarity with agile, iterative software development practices
