About the role

  • Drive user experience and interface design for the Election Administration Platform (EAP)
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design artifacts aligning the team toward a shared vision
  • Screen, onboard, and manage a team of volunteer designers and user researchers
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance on volunteer design work
  • Define end-to-end user flows incorporating technical information architecture, systems thinking, and design principles
  • Plan and facilitate user research in collaboration with research specialist volunteers

Requirements

  • 7+ years as a senior independent contributor product designer for digital software products
  • Experience managing other designers
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex projects
  • Ability to balance hands-on design work and volunteer management
  • Familiarity with modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma
  • Familiarity with agile, iterative software development practices
