About the role
- Research and identify DoD West Coast opportunities aligned with corporate capabilities and strategic growth objectives.
- Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of DoD West Coast pursuits.
- Build and maintain relationships with DoD West Coast stakeholders, contracting officers, program managers, and industry partners.
- Represent the company at DoD West Coast industry days, conferences, and association events.
- Lead capture planning and execution for DoD West Coast opportunities.
- Develop capture plans and win strategies tailored to DoD missions and requirements.
- Conduct competitive assessments and analysis.
- Lead the preparation of compliant, compelling proposals in response to DoD RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitations.
- Facilitate kickoff meetings, solutioning sessions, color team reviews, and final production.
- Write and edit proposal sections including Executive Summaries, Technical and Management Approaches, Staffing Plans, Cost Volumes, and Past Performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, English, or in a related field.
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in business development, capture, and proposal writing/management.
- In-depth understanding of the DoD acquisition lifecycle, FAR/DFARS regulations, and major contracting vehicles (GSA OASIS, SEWP, IDIQs, MACs, etc.)
- Experience with DoD agencies (such as Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines)
- Proven ability to lead capture and proposal efforts for pursuits over $10m
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven record of developing winning proposals.
- Proficient with proposal and CRM tools.
