Assess and attend to customers’ banking needs; obtain and process customer and account information
Demonstrate and educate clients on available deposit and loan products and services; recommend solutions based on customer goals and needs
Proactively reach out and follow up with clients; ask questions to learn financial needs and channel preferences
Maintain working knowledge of consumer and business banking products and digital services
Provide consistent optimal client experience, including greeting clients and processing basic transactions
Develop collaborative partnerships with branch team members and partners
Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests and submit credit applications
Proactively educate clients on emerging and self-service digital products and services
Leverage resources and technologies to optimize client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy
Role may require NMLS registration process and compliance, including criminal background and credit checks
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Client Relationship Consultant 1: Typically 1-2 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
Client Relationship Consultant 2: Typically 3-4 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
Client Relationship Consultant 3: Typically 4-5 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
Client Relationship Consultant 4: Typically 5+ years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up
Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients
Knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures and support systems (basic to advanced depending on level)
Customer service and interpersonal skills
Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies
Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while leveraging a digital first mindset
Proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer’s needs
Experience in the financial services industry preferred
Experience participating in sales campaigns/promotions (preferred for higher levels)
Position requires NMLS registration (S.A.F.E. Act) for mortgage-related duties, including criminal background and credit check
Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
