About the role

  • Build relationships with customers, engaging via multiple channels including in-person, by appointment, and virtually
  • Assess and attend to customers’ banking needs; obtain and process customer and account information
  • Demonstrate and educate clients on available deposit and loan products and services; recommend solutions based on customer goals and needs
  • Proactively reach out and follow up with clients; ask questions to learn financial needs and channel preferences
  • Maintain working knowledge of consumer and business banking products and digital services
  • Provide consistent optimal client experience, including greeting clients and processing basic transactions
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with branch team members and partners
  • Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests and submit credit applications
  • Proactively educate clients on emerging and self-service digital products and services
  • Leverage resources and technologies to optimize client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy
  • Role may require NMLS registration process and compliance, including criminal background and credit checks

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Client Relationship Consultant 1: Typically 1-2 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 2: Typically 3-4 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 3: Typically 4-5 years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Client Relationship Consultant 4: Typically 5+ years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients
  • Knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures and support systems (basic to advanced depending on level)
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies
  • Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while leveraging a digital first mindset
  • Proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer’s needs
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred
  • Experience participating in sales campaigns/promotions (preferred for higher levels)
  • Position requires NMLS registration (S.A.F.E. Act) for mortgage-related duties, including criminal background and credit check
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Bank policies, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
  • Subject to background checks consistent with local laws
