About the role

  • Partner with business and product teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Varicent configurations and technical designs
  • Design, build, test, and support incentive compensation solutions, including data models, calculation logic, presenter reports, workflows, web forms, and plan components according to U.S. Bank processes and conventions
  • Execute and document unit, system, and validation testing
  • Support QA cycles and production migrations across DEV, QA, and PROD environments
  • Stay up to date on the changing ICM landscape and Varicent enhancements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues by analyzing data, calculations, logs, and integrations to meet SLAs and availability targets
  • Support scheduled jobs, data loads, calculation runs, and reporting cycles; partner with upstream and downstream teams to stabilize integrations
  • Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies, contribute to technical and operational documentation, and mentor junior team members
  • Enable Varicent delivered AI functionality as new features are delivered

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Three to five years of relevant experience
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database concepts
  • Experience with functional/system testing and defect management
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Proven ability to design and build calculation logic and data transformations
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity while following established standards and guidance
  • Curiosity and desire to adopt AI efficiencies
  • Nice to Have: Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, REST APIs, and Python
