About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services
  • Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
  • Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers
  • Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels
  • Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services
  • Prepare rental invoices and accept returned rental equipment
  • Install hitches and trailer wiring
  • Fill propane
  • Drive a forklift
  • Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals
  • Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields when required
  • Ability to remain stationary for long periods and move around indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to position oneself to reach objects at varying heights
  • Ability to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted
  • Must not use nicotine products, consistent with applicable state law
