About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Inspect, maintain and build new buildings
Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites
Use a variety of hand and power tools
Share knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to accomplish complex projects
Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner
Track the company truck and gas card
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing or landscaping
Valid driver’s license
D.O.T certification (can be sponsored by U-Haul)
Must be 18 or older
Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals
Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields when required
Ability to remain stationary for long periods indoors and outdoors
Ability to traverse spaces and reposition to reach and use tools
Ability to move a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted
U-Haul will not hire or re-hire individuals who use nicotine products in Iowa, consistent with applicable state law
