About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Order Processing: Receive documents and initiate logging process, confirm data received follows all Canadian and US Custom requirements, process all documents in accordance with requirements, finalize billing and distribute documents as required
Shipment Status reporting: Review daily monitoring reports, ensure all measurements standards are met, and proactively report non-conformance
Research and assess CBSA requirements for USMCA, D/T, GST and other customs entry requirements
Evaluate all new Government agency compliance requirements to ensure import compliance with changes and incorporation into the daily operations and standard operating procedures
Review existing Tariff Classifications for accuracy, and coordinate corrections where vital

Requirements

What you’ll need

A four-year BS/BA degree is preferred, not required
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) - Compliance diploma preferred
At least two (2) years of experience handling import trafficking functions with a freight forwarder/broker
Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in customer service duties
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and organization skills and a strong attention to detail are required
Ability to work on a team and leadership experience is strongly desired
Ability to learn various computer programs
