About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Order Processing: Receive documents and initiate logging process, confirm data received follows all Canadian and US Custom requirements, process all documents in accordance with requirements, finalize billing and distribute documents as required
- Shipment Status reporting: Review daily monitoring reports, ensure all measurements standards are met, and proactively report non-conformance
- Research and assess CBSA requirements for USMCA, D/T, GST and other customs entry requirements
- Evaluate all new Government agency compliance requirements to ensure import compliance with changes and incorporation into the daily operations and standard operating procedures
- Review existing Tariff Classifications for accuracy, and coordinate corrections where vital
Requirements
What you’ll need- A four-year BS/BA degree is preferred, not required
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) - Compliance diploma preferred
- At least two (2) years of experience handling import trafficking functions with a freight forwarder/broker
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in customer service duties
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and organization skills and a strong attention to detail are required
- Ability to work on a team and leadership experience is strongly desired
- Ability to learn various computer programs
