About the role
- This role supports an Australia-owned and operated business that sources, produces, and supplies innovative snack products to major local supermarket groups, alongside servicing international retail and distribution customers across global markets. Sitting at the intersection of finance, data analysis, and commercial operations, the role provides insight to the finance team through analysis of financial results, sales performance, and product profitability.
- - Analyse financial, sales, and product performance data to provide insights on margins, profitability, and retailer performance.
- - Support the finance team with reporting, variance analysis, and interpretation of financial results.
- - Assist in understanding cost drivers across sourcing, production, and distribution activities.
- - Prepare and maintain regular reports and data summaries for internal stakeholders.
- - Partner with commercial, operations, and logistics teams to gain end-to-end visibility of product and business performance.
- - Provide analytical support for new product launches, promotions, and customer performance reviews.
- - Assist the logistics team with operational cover when required, particularly during peak periods or staff absences.
- - Contribute to the continuous improvement of data accuracy, reporting processes, and internal controls.
- - Other duties and responsibilities as applicable.
Requirements
- - Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- - 3-5 years of experience in a relevant industry such as FMCG, food manufacturing, consumer goods, or distribution with exposure to financial and commercial analysis across global markets.
- - Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting financial and sales data.
- - Demonstrated advanced Excel skills; experience with BI, reporting, ERP (Netsuite preferred) systems is an advantage.
- - Commercially focused, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- - Adaptable and hands-on, comfortable supporting multiple functions in a small team environment where responsibilities are broad and evolve over time.
- - Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with Australian-based stakeholders.
- - Experience working offshore and supporting international clients is preferred.
