About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the registration and scheduling of patients in a call center environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Accurately and efficiently schedule new and existing patients in the current practice management system.
- Answer a high volume of inbound calls in a timely, pleasant and professional manner.
- Communicate all pertinent patient information regarding their call to include: appointment information, directions, check-in times, referral information, and copayments.
- Verify and document insurance information as defined by current business practices.
- Maintain and update assigned appointment reports, new patient reports or other assigned scheduling modules.
- Maintain a working knowledge of health care plan requirements and health plan networks.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare facility in relation to pre-registration or appointment scheduling preferred
- Previous experience in a call-center environment preferred
