About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work 3 breakfast shifts and 2 dinner shifts per week to support morning and evening services
  • Maintain beverage temperature, test tray, dining room refrigerator, and service timing logs
  • Train Dietary Aides on proper use of logs
  • Assist the CDM with developing and communicating opening, mid-shift, and closing job flow charts
  • Assist with training other Dietary Servers
  • Assist the CDM with sanitation maintenance, ServSafe-approved cleaning techniques, and cleaning schedules
  • Monitor daily and weekly cleaning schedules and communicate accountability issues to the CDM
  • Train on inputting, monitoring, and printing diet orders and meal tickets
  • When the CDM is absent, print, distribute, and collect tickets according to building policy
  • Monitor prescribed diet orders, texture modifications, and liberalized diets
  • Communicate diet-order errors to cooks and the CDM immediately
  • Attend departmental meetings and communicate relevant information to Dietary Aides
  • Communicate issues to the CDM or Administrator and proactively resolve resident issues
  • Address resident dining requests professionally and ensure corrections are followed up on promptly

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma, or equivalent, required
  • One year of experience in a dietary department in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting preferred
  • Current ServSafe Managers certification, maintained and renewed no more than thirty days before expiration
  • Fire and passion for working with seniors
  • Flexible, fun, and energetic personality
  • Professional image in appearance and behavior
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Weekend availability
  • Ability to work 3 breakfast shifts and 2 dinner shifts per week
