About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead daily operations of the assigned automotive repair shop location
- Ensure services meet Turbo Tim’s quality and customer satisfaction standards
- Create a welcoming, professional customer environment and resolve escalated concerns
- Lead the service team in providing accurate estimates and timely customer communication
- Coordinate with the Customer Experience Manager to implement SOPs and best practices
- Supervise, train, mentor, and develop Service Advisors, Parts Managers, and Technicians
- Set performance goals, monitor progress, provide coaching, and conduct regular team meetings
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members
- Oversee repair scheduling, workflow, productivity, and downtime
- Monitor KPIs including repair order completion times, labor hours, gross profit margins, and average repair orders
- Manage parts, orders, and inventory when no Parts Manager is present
- Maintain standardized processes and review repair orders, warranty claims, parts, and labor charges
- Deliver forecast, budget, and KPI goals; track sales, costs, and profitability
- Process and record repair orders, warranty work, and third-party claims
- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer on budgets and expenses
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized shop and coordinate facility repairs or upgrades
- Track automotive industry trends and implement improvements to customer satisfaction, service delivery, and efficiency
- Promote and participate in training programs
- Audit Service Advisor calls weekly at the designated location
- Attend required training, networking, and company events; follow company policies
- Assume or delegate Parts Manager or Shop Foreman responsibilities when those roles are absent
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Manager or similar leadership role within the automotive repair industry
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes
- Ability to manage a team through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with automotive software and management tools such as Google Sheets, QuickBooks, or shop management systems
- Understanding of financial metrics including labor efficiency, parts, sales, and gross profit margins
- Strong problem-solving skills for resolving customer issues and operational challenges
- Demonstrated passion, enthusiasm, positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to take on new responsibilities
- Demonstrated loyalty, discretion, and ability to promote the company and maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated leadership, calm communication, boundary-setting, coaching, and support of others
- Attend training as directed and required
- Attend and participate in networking and company events
- Follow all company policies and procedures outlined in the handbook
- Ability to assume or delegate Parts Manager or Shop Foreman responsibilities when needed
