About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the technical roadmap and execution for Trustly's bank connector infrastructure.
Lead and develop a team of engineers building and maintaining bank integrations at scale.
Drive Trustly's AI-centric approach to bank connectors leveraging LLMs and AI-assisted tooling.
Monitor, triage, and resolve connectivity issues across Trustly's bank network.
Partner with the VP of Banks and commercial teams to prioritize bank coverage based on merchant demand and strategic value.
Stay current on open banking regulatory developments, bank API standards, and data access frameworks.

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.
Deep experience building and maintaining financial data integrations, bank APIs, or payment connectivity infrastructure.
Strong interest in and working knowledge of AI-assisted development practices.
Operationally excellent – experienced running high-reliability integrations in production.
Experience with open banking standards (Plaid, MX, Finicity, or equivalent direct bank API experience) strongly preferred.
Strong communicator – able to represent technical complexity clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
