About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage Trustly’s global tax compliance process to ensure that Trustly always reports and pays the correct amount of tax globally, Including:
  • Reviewing corporate tax computations and returns
  • Review of VAT returns and EC sales lists
  • Tax compliance calendar tracking and management
  • Manage quarterly and year-end compliance timelines/tasks
  • Assisting with the preparation of transfer pricing calculations
  • Act as the main point of contact for Trustly’s global tax outsource provider
  • Act as a touchpoint between wider Finance and Tax for data collection
  • Assisting the tax team with key projects
  • Assist with audits and inquiries from tax authorities
  • Identify and implement digital solutions to enhance efficiency and streamline tax compliance and other tax processes
  • Assisting with other key tax reporting requirements (e.g. DAC 6 and CESOP) and compliance related tasks related to being a regulated entity and financial institution (e.g. FATCA and CRS returns)
  • Assist with monitoring tax legislative changes and assess potential impact to the business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Significant experience in managing tax compliance
  • Experience across direct and indirect tax compliance is considered a strong advantage (especially EU experience)
  • Previous in-house experience is a strong advantage (ideally with FinTech and/or financial services experience)
  • A qualified tax professional (e.g. ACA, CTA in the UK or equivalent) with strong technical expertise
  • Tax accounting experience is a strong advantage
  • Confident partnering with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong ability to manage workload, multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Advance Excel skills
  • Experience with Netsuite is a strong plus
  • Experienced in managing external advisors and building positive relationships with tax authorities
  • Enthusiastic about building, scaling and automating within a growing business
  • Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written
