About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment planning via telehealth and in-person visits
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including Schedule II–V controlled substances, in accordance with DEA regulations and South Carolina prescribing laws
- Perform required in-person assessments at designated TRTG clinic locations for patients receiving controlled substance prescriptions
- Monitor patients for medication efficacy, tolerability, and safety; adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Utilize the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) consistently for all controlled substance prescribing decisions
- Collaborate with TRTG therapists, case managers, and primary care providers on integrated care planning
- Participate in care coordination and transition planning for high-acuity or complex patients
- Engage in quality improvement, peer review, and required organizational training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active, unrestricted APRN licensure in the state of South Carolina (multi-state or compact licensure a plus)
- PMHNP-BC board certification strongly preferred; or APRN with significant documented psychiatric/mental health clinical experience
- Current DEA registration with authority to prescribe Schedule II–V controlled substances
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric clinical experience in outpatient, inpatient, or community behavioral health settings
- Demonstrated experience managing patients on controlled substances including stimulants, benzodiazepines, and/or buprenorphine
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms and electronic health records
- Reliable, private workspace and high-speed internet connection suitable for HIPAA- compliant telehealth
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to TRTG office locations as required by patient care needs
