About the role
- Lead, manage, and mentor a group of data engineers
- Own the design and development of data pipelines and systems
- Advocate for data quality by implementing controls and SLAs
- Partner cross-functionally with Data Science and Product managers
- Perform high-impact code reviews
- Contribute directly to development work and troubleshooting
- Ensure data is reliable and easily accessible for stakeholders
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on management experience
- 5+ years of relevant data engineering expertise
- Familiarity with modern technologies like Snowflake, Airflow, BigQuery, or Redshift
- Advanced proficiency in Python or Java
- Expert-level SQL skills
- Experience designing data warehouses and workflow systems
- Extensive experience owning SLAs for production processes
- Bonus: Experience with Spark, Scala, or Protocol Buffers
- Bonus: Navigated regulatory challenges of FinTech
