About the role
- Provide technical and design leadership across high impact projects that directly impact business goals.
- Set strategic technical directions for your engineering team.
- Partner with the designers and product managers to create an engaging and transparent customer experience.
- Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables as a highly hands on engineer.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.
- Influence and mentor a distributed set of engineers
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Experience building scaled web-based applications with deep understanding of business goals.
- Exceptional technical design and technical communication skills.
- Strong proficiency with one or more programming languages (Ruby on Rails/React)
- Strong foundations in UI development and product security and or DevOps is helpful.
- Able to negotiate trade offs between product and engineering priorities to maximize the business value of engineering effort.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Very collaborative environment and participation is important.
- Prior experience working for a startup is helpful.
- A formal degree in computer science is helpful, but we have people working in this role with only a high school diploma and others with PhDs. We care more about what you can deliver.
- Strong foundations in UI development and product security and or DevOps is helpful.
