About the role

  • Maintain detailed records of firewall setups, changes, exceptions, and testing results.
  • Flow Troubleshooting
  • Conduct regular system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and performance monitoring to ensure the security and efficiency of firewall operations.
  • Collaborate with the IT security team to devise and execute a comprehensive network security strategy.
  • Document all configurations, modifications, and security policies related to the firewall infrastructure.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to team members and other staff on network security concerns and firewall functionalities.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, technologies, and automation practices to continually enhance firewall security and operational efficiency.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage firewalls including Palo Alto, CISCO ASA, and Checkpoint to safeguard critical infrastructure and data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in firewall administration, specifically with Palo Alto, CISCO ASA, and Checkpoint products.
  • Thorough understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and firewall technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex security systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment and with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in documenting processes and procedures clearly and accurately.
  • Certification in Palo Alto (e.g., PCNSE), CISCO, Checkpoint, and/or CISSP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (Python, Bash) for efficient firewall management, rule provisioning, and log analysis automation.
