About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure timely and accurate electronic filing of court documents, including pleadings, motions, and other legal submissions
- Prepare and submit filings through designated e-filing portals (e.g., LegalConnect, PACER, File & Serve)
- Serve as an administrative liaison between the firm and court personnel, including clerks and other court staff (excluding judges)
- Identify, interpret, and ensure compliance with all applicable court rules and procedures, including monitoring rule changes and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with attorneys, paralegals, and staff on court-related matters
- Maintain accurate records of all electronic filings, court appearances, and related communications
- Investigate, address, and resolve issues or discrepancies related to court filings and procedures
- Provide training and support to attorneys and staff on court procedures, e-filing protocols, and best practices
- Stay current on industry’s best practices and recommend enhancements to the firm’s court e-filing processes
- Maintain confidential information related to all matters and court activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position
- Minimum five (5) years of experience serving as a court liaison or in a comparable role within a law firm or legal department
- Experience with using electronic court filing systems (e.g., PACER, CM/ECF)
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, including creating, editing, and managing PDF files
- Proficiency with legal document management systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
