About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build reliable and scalable backend software used by TRM customers
Design backend APIs with a strong understanding of customer experience and performance
Develop and maintain public APIs in TRM’s API Product suite
Collaborate with stakeholders to transform functional vision into roadmaps with clear outcomes
Support internal business units through shared engineering services and functionality
Develop cross-functional relationships to understand and empower stakeholder missions end to end
Lead projects as a technical anchor within weekly sprint cycles
Deliver impactful features for internal customers and the company
Participate in the internal-tools on-call rotation and triage customer support requests from designated Slack channels
Prioritize work, adapt quickly, time-box technical spikes, and drive delivery speed
Participate in interviews including case study, AI skills assessment, and Leadership Principles interview

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience designing and building scalable systems, web applications, APIs, and services
Understanding of storage systems such as relational databases, including Postgres, and analytical databases
Demonstrated ability to understand customer pain points and translate them into technical and product requirements
High degree of initiative and ownership; ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to change
Exceptional ability to structure problems and identify critical issues for prioritization
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing
Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels
Ability and willingness to work from the San Francisco office at least three days per week
Willingness and ability to participate in the internal-tools on-call rotation
AI fluency, including applying AI to accelerate workflows, structure and solve problems, improve output quality, and increase speed and leverage
Legal authorization to work in the current country of employment
Willingness to disclose visa sponsorship needs
