About the role
- Manage all assigned commercial accounts, including account planning, forecasting, and inventory management
- Act as primary liaison between customers and Trivium Customer Service, Technical, Engineering, R&D, Quality and Operations teams
- Develop and design customer-centric strategies to increase long-term customer loyalty
- Organize and lead customer collaboration and innovation workshops
- Communicate and present the Trivium value proposition to customers
- Secure new business by commercializing new projects and managing new customer qualifications and commercialization
- Lead or support long term supply agreement negotiations and recommend product simplification/standardization
- Prepare and deliver sales and technical presentations, periodic customer technical and sales reports, and forecasts
- Identify and capture consumer and market insights, growth opportunities, and customer priorities
- Participate in internal weekly and monthly calls and ensure assignments meet standards and deadlines
- Recommend budget and R&D appropriations and attend professional development training
- Travel to customer sites and Trivium production facilities as required
- Perform all other job duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Minimum 8 years of B2B industrial sales experience (preferably industrial-oriented food packaging)
- Previous experience in a Key Account Manager role preferred
- History of delivering customer value and acting as a trusted advisor
- In-depth involvement in business strategy development and linking strategy to execution
- Strong leadership skills
- Highly skilled in negotiation techniques
- Ability to build strong relationships across multiple functions with internal and external customers
- Ability to drive customer focus with key stakeholders at all levels
- Professional and strong business acumen
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must be comfortable in office, factory, and warehouse environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot-table experience a plus) and PowerPoint
- Experience with SalesForce.com or similar CRM tool
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and integrity
- Experience in customer collaboration and joint business planning
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and Trivium production facilities
