About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and implement relational and non-relational databases within Azure environments
Build and maintain enterprise data lakes and supporting data architectures
Develop and implement efficient data transformation solutions to support business requirements
Optimize data access patterns, database performance, and scalability across cloud platforms
Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and architectural artifacts
Partner with security, infrastructure, and development teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards
Design and implement disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions
Support CI/CD processes and automation initiatives for database deployment and management
Monitor database environments and proactively resolve performance and reliability issues
Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members and stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of professional experience as a Database Engineer, Database Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role
Strong experience designing, developing, and implementing relational and non-relational databases in Azure
Experience building and supporting Azure-based data lakes and cloud data platforms
Hands-on experience with Databricks and modern data processing solutions
Strong experience with Oracle databases and database administration concepts
Expertise developing and implementing data transformation solutions and cloud integrations
Strong experience coding, testing, and deploying data loading processes using Azure data utilities
Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for data and database deployments
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and best practices
Experience implementing role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and network security controls
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
