About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate CT scanners to obtain images for diagnosis and treatment of pathologies and disease
Prepare patients for procedures and administer contrast media
Operate scanners according to protocol using ALARA techniques
Provide quality patient care considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs
Review patient charts and radiological history to determine proper protocol
Identify patients and ensure proper positioning and immobilization
Explain procedures and provide reassurance and instructions
Operate CT equipment and perform quality control checks
Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media
Document patient history and reactions and follow up with referring physicians
Observe patient condition during CT exams and initiate emergency actions if necessary
Maintain cleanliness and follow infection control procedures
Apply radiation safety knowledge and adhere to radiation safety regulations
Schedule CT exams for optimal efficiency and equipment utilization

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma required
Associate's degree in radiologic technology or equivalent combination of education and experience required
ARRT(R) registered radiographer
Advanced CT certification or CT registry-eligible, with certification within one year of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Experience working in trauma and stroke centers preferred
Experience with venipuncture, cross-sectional anatomy, post processing/3D, cardiac CTA, and CT-guided procedures preferred
Registered radiologic technologists without prior CT experience may be hired and trained in CT by accepting the terms of the sign-on bonus
