About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support customer relations, physician relations, patient care, and hospital business services through administrative and scheduling activities
- Perform pre-registration and electronically verify insurance eligibility
- Accurately identify and collect patient financial responsibility
- Handle complex scheduled events, including high-dollar testing and associated studies with study-specific instructions
- Communicate with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service
- Initiate the overall patient experience and billing process for hospital services
- Schedule complex facility-based ancillary testing across multiple facilities and states
- Schedule appointments across multiple facilities with significant protocol variations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) to Five (5) years experience in scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access
- Specialist II requires a minimum of five plus (5) years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems
- Demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes
- National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
- Proficient use of Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software systems
