About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support customer relations, physician relations, patient care, and hospital business services through administrative and scheduling activities
Perform pre-registration and electronically verify insurance eligibility
Accurately identify and collect patient financial responsibility
Handle complex scheduled events, including high-dollar testing and associated studies with study-specific instructions
Communicate with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service
Initiate the overall patient experience and billing process for hospital services
Schedule complex facility-based ancillary testing across multiple facilities and states
Schedule appointments across multiple facilities with significant protocol variations

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent
Two (2) to Five (5) years experience in scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access
Specialist II requires a minimum of five plus (5) years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting
Comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems
Demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes
National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
Proficient use of Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software systems
