About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform telephone triage for patients
  • Triage and submit medication prior authorization requests
  • Screen calls and schedule appointments
  • Review and update medication lists in the electronic medical record
  • Complete referrals and track patient compliance
  • Review electronic prescriptions and send them to providers for review and submission
  • Obtain patient consent for procedures as directed by the provider
  • Perform pre-visit planning and review quality metrics
  • Retrieve telephonic clinical information from patients
  • Monitor the task list and complete provider-assigned tasks according to urgency
  • Educate patients about medications, testing procedures, and home care techniques
  • Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of patient specimens
  • Follow up with patients regarding test results based on provider instructions
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including disinfecting patient care areas and equipment
  • Maintain the medical supply cabinet and drug cabinet with nursing colleagues
  • Use the electronic medical record for communication
  • Perform assigned quality assurance duties
  • Provide clinical visit summaries and educational materials as requested
  • Participate in daily Patient Care huddles as appropriate
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues to ensure quality patient care
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years RN experience required
  • 6 months previous RN experience
  • Current unencumbered NYS RN license
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
