About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- The Business Manager serves as a key operational leader for Surgical Services, supporting both Trinity Health Oakland (Pontiac) and Trinity Health Livonia Hospitals with a strong onsite presence across the two locations.
- This role oversees a team of nine professionals and provides leadership for critical business and operational functions that support the surgical enterprise.
- Working closely with Surgical Services Directors and operational leaders, the Business Manager is responsible for budget development, financial monitoring, operational reporting, charge capture, auditing, and analytics for the O.R. and Surgical Services departments.
- The role provides insight on surgical volume, utilization, forecasting, KPIs, and strategic growth initiatives to support organizational performance.
- The Business Manager also coordinates capital purchases, supply chain requests, cost containment efforts, and quality assurance measures to ensure efficient operations.
- Additionally, this leader supervises designated non-nursing personnel and helps maintain a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment across Surgical Services.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospital Administration or other health care related field required.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the areas of budget preparation, analysis and inventory control.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in supervision.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in the area of health care, surgical experience highly desirable.
